"Katharina was superb in every way. She was effervescent, knowledgeable, adaptable, interesting, and a master and connecting small observations from one piece to the next 100 yrs apart. Like all of our context tours, she was truly excellent, educational, and fun. I adore the intensity achieveable on this tour. We feel totally enriched!" – Steve

We were more than happy with having David as our guide in Salzburg. It was a very cold morning wandering the narrow and historical alleys and paths on both sides of the river. But it went by quickly because of the conversations with David. He ensured we saw the must sees. More importantly we not only got the historical backgrounds of these sites, we got to see the in-between places and paths with social, economic, and historical contexts. From the dominance of the Archbishops, the Jewish history, the two wars, the emergence of Austrian identity, to today’s Austrian society, we felt that we got more than a tour. It was more like a crash course that made us want to research and learn more. We felt that we now know Salzburg and Austria a little better. In addition, he was patient and flexible. The fog was so dense that he recommended reshuffling our tour so that we got more walking tour experience before he walked us to the funicular for the fortress at the end of our time with him. Through and through we had an excellent tour with an excellent guide.
We thoroughly enjoyed our tour with Alexa as she guided us through the history of the Schonbrunn Palace and gardens. She took us back in time to the Hapsburg dynasty and provided numerous insights to life during this period. Her knowledge was exceptional and the way she told the story of the family brought history to life. Alexa answered our questions along the way and focused the tour to highlight particular areas of interest for us. She also gave us a vignette into life today in Vienna.
Reinhard took us to locations we probably would not have otherwise visited. It was completely fascinating, in large measure because of his perspective, which is informed by lots of different disciplines-history, aesthetics, philosophy, religion, languages and more.
