The Finer Details
Even the greatest museums can feel overwhelming, especially for children seeing them for the first time. Instead of being a place of overwhelming rooms and long corridors, this Louvre tour for kids reframes the museum as a place of dramatic shipwrecks, mysterious smiles, and ancient gods with stories to tell.

With an expert leading the way, families glide past the crowds to stand before icons like the Venus de Milo and The Raft of the Medusa, slowing down to notice the details that turn looking into storytelling. Your expert will use paintings and sculptures as entry points into conversations about symbols, emotions, and technique. As we move from ancient Egypt to royal France, what clues did artists leave behind for curious eyes to discover? Children are invited to notice details, while adults gain context that deepens understanding.

Rather than racing past the highlights, this Louvre family tour emphasizes quality over quantity. Time is spent observing, discussing, and making sense of what is seen. Activities and questions help children (and adults) stay engaged without feeling tested or overwhelmed.

In galleries that can otherwise feel vast and impersonal, your family carves out something intimate: moments of recognition, surprise, and conversation. The Louvre’s great icons become touchstones rather than trophies, and its quieter corners gain meaning through story. Long after you’ve exited beneath the pyramid, those details — an outstretched marble wing, a half-hidden smile, a dramatic wave crashing against a raft — remain vivid and personal.

A Note on Your Tickets: To ensure you have the best possible experience, our team manually secures every Louvre entry slot. Because these tickets are in high demand, confirmation may take a little longer than usual. In the rare event your preferred time is unavailable, we’ll work closely with you to find a perfect alternative or provide a full refund.
A memory your family will come back to time and again.
"Sandra was remarkably personable, especially with our seven year old. Improvising for a fun visit and constantly at eye level, Sandra was engaging with humor and intellect; she would be a world class teacher. Today at breakfast we heard an amazing minute-by-minute recount of the [time] spent together. Our little one knew what she had seen, its importance and a good bit of historical context. Most of all, she was beaming about her new friend and the fun they had together."

Created for children, enjoyed by all.
“The whole family loved our tour with Laurent. We were a group of three generations, and he was so engaged with everyone. He made such a daunting and huge Louvre a place where we learned so much and enjoyed our time. Highly recommend this tour!”

Unfortunately, the Louvre has recently updated their policy regarding group visits. If you wish to visit the museum on your own after the tour, you will be required to purchase a separate individual ticket for re-entry.
Our Louvre museum tours are capped at 6 due to venue reservation restrictions. This also helps your tour experience in order to best navigate the museum and crowds. Should you have a larger group, we suggest splitting into multiple groups.
We strive to accommodate all visitors. Please let us know in advance, and we will work with you to tailor the tour to your child's specific needs.
Strollers are allowed in most areas of the Louvre. However, during busy times, navigating with a stroller might be challenging in crowded galleries.

This was the best idea ever, and Marie was fantastic. She kept a 7 and 9 year old engaged with stories and history they could understand. Can’t recommend her and Context enough. Well worth the money!

Lovely tour,

The tour was exceptional, and Elise was perfect. We booked the Louvre tour, but the lines that day were a mess, and we had to pivot. Elise didn’t miss a beat. She brought Louvre-level expertise to an on-the-fly plan that kept our whole family engaged (ages 10 to 21) and somehow made Plan B feel like the plan we should’ve picked all along. What sets her apart is range and judgment. She can pull back to give a broader historical context, then zoom in to answer a specific question or highlight a detail you might never notice on your own. She has a great feel for the group, leaning into what sparks interest and keeping things moving so everyone stays engaged. If this is what she can do adjusting in real time, I can only imagine how strong the full Louvre experience is under ideal conditions!
