I had a wonderful tour with Reyan on Oct 8! On Oct 7, she contacted me to ensure that I was clear on the logistics of the tour, which was greatly appreciated because Istanbul had one of its worst rainstorms in decades and resulted in some travel challenges for me. Consequently, she even offered to meet me at my hotel and later in the day if I desired. On the day of the tour, she had the necessary bags to protect my socks from getting wet when entering the mosque. As we discussed, dry feet when walking for 4 hours is essential. We first visited the Blue Mosque and Reyan provided an historic overview of Turkey, Istanbul, and then specifically, the Blue Mosque while we sat in the mosque amongst the other visitors and the cats of Istanbul. We next visited the Hagia Sophia and Reyan provided its history and its importance to the Eastern Orthodox religions and its subsequent conversion to a mosque by the Turkish government. We then visited the Hippodrome and Reyan provided its history along with pictures of what it looked like and how it had changed over the centuries. At each spot, she provided me with some time to take pictures and just wander to experience each site. Finally, we made our way to the Grand Bazaar, and she offered tips on what to be aware of and avoid. After the tour, she was kind enough to provide me with information and recommendations to further enjoy my stay in Istanbul. Information that I would have never known despite doing a bit of research prior to my visit. I highly recommend a tour with Reyan. Thank you again for a unique and memorable experience, Reyan.
