Tour Description
Calling all curious minds! Join us for a treasure hunt through the halls of the iconic Louvre, where history and imagination collide. Led by a friendly art detective (aka our local expert), this interactive adventure is a hands-on journey tailored for kids and their grown-up companions that will spark curiosity and ignite creative thinking.

Forget dusty exhibits and bored faces. This tour brings history to life, flexibly adapting to your child’s interests. Meet at Cafe Palais Royal, where your guide weaves tales of the Louvre, helping you imagine life inside when it was a mighty fortress or royal residence.

Young explorers will then unravel ancient Egyptian mysteries, going face-to-face with sphinx statues and deciphering secrets hidden in hieroglyph-covered walls. They'll stand alongside the majestic Winged Victory, striking their own similar pose, and investigate the beauty of Venus de Milo. Why doesn’t she have arms? And why does the Mona Lisa have that mysterious smile?

Young art historians will be able to ask these questions and more, learning through playful queries and interactive activities. Your guide, a master of making art fun and accessible, will engage your kids with scavenger hunts and drawing challenges. Imagine them sketching like Da Vinci or designing their own mythical creature inspired by Greek legends.

And you? You're not just a spectator – you're part of the adventure. Witness the joy in your child’s eyes as they discover hidden details, laugh along with their silly questions, and learn alongside them in this interactive journey.

By the end, you will have conquered the Louvre's most famous treasures together, met historical figures and mythical gods, and created lasting memories and a love for art that goes beyond the Louvre walls.

  • You want to turn the Louvre into a secret mission of art exploration. Crack secret codes hidden within iconic paintings, unravel the mysteries of ancient Egypt like a real archaeologist, and get to know Mona Lisa's enigmatic smile.
  • You can imagine you and your child as time travelers, meeting majestic kings and queens and mythical heroes in the halls of the iconic Louvre.
  • You have a burgeoning artist in the family who would relish the opportunity to sketch like the masters and create their own masterpieces inspired by the greats.

  • Louvre Museum - A treasure trove of stories and spectacles, the Louvre with kids becomes a playground of history and mystery, igniting young imaginations at every turn.

Resources
  • Pre-Visit Preparation:
    • Introduce your child to some of the artworks they will see. Picture books and online resources about art can be helpful. The Louvre's official website provides materials here for families.
    • Explain what behavior is expected in a museum—speaking quietly, not touching the art, and walking instead of running.
  • If you are looking to learn more about Paris prior to a visit, check out our online lectures and audio guides here

This far exceeded my expectations. James was knowledgeable, engaging and flexible. I would highly recommend him for any family or even adults without children. His perspective as an artist brought a whole new understanding to appreciating the masterpieces that lie around every corner of the Louvre.
